This fact sheet services as an overview of Substitute Decision Makers (SDM), in relation to financial decision making. This resource will support survivors and their advocates understand relevant definitions, explores the scope of a SDM’s authority, ways an SDM can abuse their power, and strategies to respond to this. This resource was developed in collaboration with Pro Bono Students Canada.
